What's With The Name.

Our philosophy of creating an employee owned firm works well with having a nondescript name, rather than a name bearing the personal names or initials of the Principals.  The company name “Snubbs” was taken from an old email address that company founder, Tommy Ruiz had used during college.  Besides being nondescript, the name Snubbs is unique and recognizable.  Additionally, the domain www.Snubbs.com was available at the time, so Snubbs Consulting was born.  Through the years some thought has been given to changing the name, but each time it has been decided to stick with the weird, obscure, (use your own adjective) name.

Meet The Team

Principals 

Tommy Ruiz, PE, CFM, LEED AP
President

Mr. Ruiz is a Professional Engineer with over 15 years of experience in Civil Engineering and Project Management. His specialties include stormwater management system design, floodplain management, environmental permitting, database programming, Geographical Information System (GIS) analysis, and utility relocation design. He is experienced in developing conceptual drainage studies and final design drainage plans. During his carreer, Mr. Ruiz has prepared project schedules, progress reports, staff hour estimates, master plan conceptual studies, and managed staff.

Fernando V. Gomez, PE
Vice-President

Mr. Gomez’s engineering career spans over 30 years.  His experience lies in a wide range of civil engineering projects both in the public and private sector. He is proficient in highway design, work zone traffic control, traffic operations/channelization, and signalization. He is also a Professional Surveyor and Mapper with over 23 years surveying experience.

Erik E. Salgado, PE
​​Vice-President

Mr. Erik Salgado’s engineering career spans over 14 years with extensive roadway design experience including vertical and horizontal geometry, typical section package, pavement design, signing and pavement markings, signalization, lighting, digital delivery, specifications package, utility coordination and QA/QC review. His background includes extensive experience with MicroStation, Geopak, Geopak-Corridor-Modeling, AutoTURN, GuidSIGN, AutoCAD and AGI32 Lighting Design.
